Following FURIA's win against MIBR at StarSeries Fall 2026, Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis opened up about his short stint as the team's in-game leader coming to an end.
The Latvian rifler had been handling calling duties on Cache, Anubis, and Ancient as FURIA prepared for FalleN's planned retirement at year's end. The arrangement was being tested as a potential long-term solution for the Brazilian organization.
However, in a post-match conversation with James Banks, YEKINDAR made it clear he's done with the IGL role. "I'm not calling anymore, and hopefully I'm not going to be anymore in the future," he stated bluntly.
The decision stems from YEKINDAR's personal experience with the demanding position. He cited increased stress levels during his time as caller and admitted he simply wasn't enjoying the responsibility. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo proved more than willing to reclaim the reins, taking back full-time leadership duties.
When pressed about whether he still calls on specific maps, YEKINDAR clarified that while he might contribute strategic ideas during matches, all primary decision-making now flows through FalleN.
FURIA continues their StarSeries Fall campaign today with a match against Vitality scheduled for 02:00 PM.
