Following a streak of commanding 2-0 sweeps, Without a Roof faced their toughest test yet in the CROSSFIRE Season 6 lower bracket final against LAG. Despite all three maps going the distance, WaR managed to prevail and lock in a top-three placement, ensuring a minimum prize of $1,000.
Jake "Stewie2K" Yip topped the server throughout the series, delivering a crucial performance on the deciding map. His stat line featured 52 eliminations, 84.6 average damage per round, and an impressive 1.27 rating.
The action kicked off on Mirage, WaR's map selection. After claiming the opening pistol and subsequent rounds for a 3-0 start, the teams traded blows through the first half to reach a 6-6 deadlock. WaR repeated their pistol success in the second half, though LAG pushed back to lead 10-9. A decisive four-round surge sealed Mirage 13-10 for WaR.
On LAG's Ancient pick, they stumbled early, falling behind 0-3. Despite leveling at 4-4, WaR dominated the remainder of the half. LAG dropped their fourth pistol of the match but mounted a remarkable CT-side comeback, forcing regulation and completing the reverse sweep 13-11.
Inferno determined the series winner. WaR grabbed another 3-0 advantage before LAG responded with five rounds in six attempts to take control. WaR closed the half 7-5 and extended their lead to 11-5 after winning yet another pistol round. LAG clawed back to 11-11, but WaR held their nerve to close out the decider 13-11.
Without a Roof will face Overtake Sector in the consolidation final on Wednesday, October 7th at 8:00 PM.
