MOUZ have secured the opening playoff position at ESL Pro League Season 24 by defeating Spirit with a convincing 2-0 scoreline, simultaneously ending one of Counter-Strike's most impressive competitive streaks.

This marks MOUZ's second victory against Spirit in six encounters this year, serving as sweet revenge following their defeat in the BLAST Open Porto grand finals. The German organization delivered a masterclass performance that left the Russian powerhouse struggling throughout both maps.

Spirit appeared completely off their game, with star player Danil "donk" Kryshkovets posting his worst-ever performance on Dust2 and seventh-worst of his entire career. Boris "magixx" Vorobiev also endured his poorest LAN map showing, compounding Spirit's misery with numerous mistakes and disjointed team coordination.

Although Spirit mounted a comeback attempt on Mirage from a 6-12 deficit, their efforts proved insufficient as MOUZ held their composure to close out the match. Dennis "sycrone" Nielsen even joked during his final timeout, saying "finally we have a fight."

The defeat terminates Spirit's extraordinary sequence of 32 consecutive Swiss stage match victories, spanning 668 days since their opening match against FURIA at the Perfect World Shanghai Major. Victory would have given Spirit their tenth consecutive perfect Swiss stage run.

On Dust2, Spirit repeatedly targeted the B bombsite but couldn't penetrate the solid defense from Lotan "Spinx" Giladi and Oldřich "PR" Nový. Switching focus to A site proved equally futile against Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás and Adrian "xelex" Vincze.

Mirage saw xelex and Dorian "xertioN" Berman dominate early proceedings while donk continued struggling. Myroslav "zont1x" Plakhotia attempted to rally his squad, but MOUZ maintained control throughout. Despite donk recording two quad-kills and finding momentum late, MOUZ's 12-6 lead proved insurmountable, securing a 13-11 victory.
