MOUZ have rediscovered their winning formula at ESL Pro League, securing their second victory over Spirit this season and ending the Russian squad's remarkable run.
Spirit had dominated Swiss group stages with 32 consecutive match wins before facing MOUZ in Katowice. However, the European squad dismantled them convincingly on both Dust2 and Mirage, silencing star player donk through meticulous preparation.
The B site on Dust2 has historically troubled MOUZ, but Spinx and PR delivered outstanding performances that forced Spirit to abandon their initial strategies. Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás praised his teammates' development, noting that PR expressed confidence and pride in his preparation after the match.
Regarding donk's quiet performance, torzsi credited exceptional preparation from coaches sycrone and xertioN. The team anticipated Spirit's moves, consistently damaging donk with grenades as he attempted his signature first-door-smoke crosses, leaving him at a health disadvantage repeatedly.
Torzsi acknowledged his personal form has returned strongly across recent events, excluding StarSeries where the entire roster underperformed. He described that tournament as "a nice slap in the face" that motivated them to refocus.
The AWPer emphasized the crucial timing of this performance stretch before the Major, affecting rankings, stickers, and team development. With their Bounty victory proving their potential, MOUZ are now firmly positioned among the big four tournament contenders.
While their immediate goal was reaching playoffs, the team's ultimate ambition remains clear: claiming the trophy. They're taking each match methodically while maintaining championship aspirations.
