The CROSSFIRE Season 6 playoffs have reached the upper bracket Round of 16 stage, bringing intense competition to HLTV coverage. Over three days of action, eight best-of-three series determined which teams would advance in the fight for the lion's share of the $10,000 prize pool.
Without a Roof delivered a commanding performance against NuTorious, sweeping them 2-0. On Ancient, WaR established early momentum with a pistol round victory that led to a 4-1 start. They maintained control throughout, finishing the first half 7-5 before dominating their CT side with five consecutive rounds to close out 13-6. Jake "Stewie2K" Yip was exceptional with 22 kills against just 9 deaths and a 2.05 rating.
The second map, Mirage, followed a similar script. Despite NuTorious taking the pistol, WaR responded with a devastating 7-1 stretch. They entered their T-side with the advantage and, after securing the second pistol, cruised to a 13-6 victory. Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov matched Stewie's excellence with 25 kills, 9 deaths, and an identical 2.05 rating.
Iowa Stormboar faced a tougher challenge against FarmVille, dropping the opening map Cache 13-4 after falling behind early. However, Stormboar bounced back on their map pick, overcoming another slow start to win 13-5 and force a decider. On Dust2, they dominated with a 9-1 run during the first half and closed out 13-4 despite losing five of six pistol rounds in the series.
With 24 teams still competing across 30 remaining series, the tournament continues this weekend with nine Saturday matches and three Sunday contests that will eliminate eight squads and determine the top six contenders.
