Wildcard successfully protect their bounty with 2-0 victory over Alliance

July 21, 20262 min read

When Alliance selected Wildcard as their opponent—the team with the smallest bounty among all available options—the Swedish roster was heavily favored according to VRS rankings, sitting at #17 compared to Wildcard's #36 position. Yet the North American squad delivered an impressive display to safeguard their $15,000 prize and punch their ticket to the top 16.

Following a disappointing performance at Stake Ranked Episode 3, this victory suggests Wildcard may be finding their stride once again.

The opening map was Inferno, chosen by Alliance, but Wildcard immediately seized momentum with a 4-0 opening. The Swedes managed to claw back several rounds, yet Wildcard maintained dominance throughout the first half to establish a commanding 9-3 advantage. After securing the second-half pistol round, Wildcard rapidly closed out the map with a decisive 13-3 scoreline, stealing Alliance's own map selection.

On their Dust2 pick, Wildcard continued their momentum by claiming their third consecutive pistol round for an early 2-0 cushion. Alliance mounted another comeback attempt, but Wildcard retained overall control to build an 8-4 halftime lead. Although Alliance finally broke through with a pistol round victory, Wildcard's defensive setup proved insurmountable as they sealed the map 13-7.

Jadan "HexT" Postma emerged as the star performer for Wildcard, posting an exceptional 32-15 K/D ratio across both maps while delivering crucial plays throughout the series.

As the 16th seed moving forward, Wildcard now earns the privilege of choosing their next opponent for Saturday, July 25th.
