Wildcard have successfully secured their spot at the forthcoming FRAG University LAN tournament, becoming the first prominent organization in approximately two weeks to confirm participation in this $25,000 North American event.
This will mark Wildcard's first appearance at a North American LAN since their victory at FRAG University in April. The timing proves crucial as the roster currently faces uncertainty regarding qualification for the PGL Singapore Major. According to MischiefCS projections, Wildcard holds just a 28.1% probability of securing one of the Americas qualification slots for the major.
The tournament roster has now grown to include 12 competing teams. Among the notable participants heading to Syracuse, New York this October are M80, Marsborne, and NRG. Interestingly, both M80 and NRG also find themselves in precarious positions regarding their Singapore Major qualification, with their spots far from guaranteed.
Given the qualification struggles facing multiple top-tier organizations, FRAG University could potentially serve as a decisive proving ground. The results from this event may significantly influence which teams ultimately earn their tickets to the second Major tournament of 2026.
