Wildcard's Major qualification odds drop to 24% following FOX Legacy disappointment

October 5, 20262 min read

The North American squad Wildcard has suffered a significant setback in their quest to reach the PGL Singapore Major, with their qualification chances dropping from 39% to 24% following a disappointing performance at FOX Legacy Season 1.

Wildcard's tournament run in Portugal ended with a 5th-6th place finish after posting a 1-2 record. Their campaign began poorly with an upper bracket first-round defeat to Nice Try, a team ranked 115th in the VRS system. While they managed to bounce back with a victory over EAC, their journey concluded with a 2-0 loss to INFINITE.

The poor showing marks a stark contrast to Wildcard's previous form at iBUYPOWER Masters FML 2026, where they secured second place behind Liquid, positioning themselves well for Major qualification.

According to calculations by Mischief, Wildcard now faces an uphill battle with two remaining LAN events to salvage their Major dreams. The team needs strong performances at both FRAG University and FiRe Last Chance to keep their hopes alive.

The mathematics offer some optimism: finishing top eight at both tournaments would give them a 55% chance at qualification. A championship at FRAG University would boost their odds to 74%, while winning FiRe Last Chance would push them to an 89% probability, thanks to the stronger competition field.

For Nemanja "nEMANHA" Đukić and his squad, the loss against lower-ranked Nice Try may prove to be the defining moment that derailed their Major campaign. With two events remaining, Wildcard must immediately rediscover their form to avoid missing out on PGL Singapore entirely.
