North American organization Wildcard have officially registered for FOX Legacy Season 1, set to take place in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. The LAN tournament is capped at 16 teams and features a prize pool totaling $13,881, with 15 squads already confirmed for participation.
Wildcard will compete alongside teams such as INFINTE and EAC at the Portuguese venue. The competition holds significant importance as teams battle for valuable VRS points ahead of the PGL Singapore Major. Currently, Wildcard occupy the eleventh position in the Americas VRS rankings, sitting just two spots below paiN, who are right on the Major qualification bubble.
The tournament format places the top four VRS-ranked teams directly into the best-of-three double-elimination playoff bracket based on September 7th standings. The remaining twelve squads will be divided into two groups of six participants, competing in a round-robin format with best-of-one matches. Each group winner advances to playoffs, along with two additional teams determined through best-of-three play-in matches between second and third-place finishers from opposite groups.
FOX Legacy Season 1 kicks off on October 1st and runs through October 4th at SAW Esports Arena in Vila Nova de Gaia. Team registration closes on September 28th.
