Wanted Goons have separated from assistant coach Grant 'GKaay' Kino, who announced his departure via social media while searching for a new position with teams competing at ECL or Advanced level across North America and Europe.
According to GKaay's statement, the split occurred due to conflicting perspectives regarding the squad's trajectory. He emphasized there were no negative feelings, stating the decision was mutual between himself and the organization.
Despite holding the assistant coach title officially, GKaay was reportedly being evaluated for the head coaching role to succeed Ian 'Fraq-KTR' Burr, according to sources. During this trial period, he functioned as head coach throughout CROSSFIRE Season 5, FRAG Midwest St. Louis, ESEA Advanced Season 58 playoffs, and CROSSFIRE Season 6 playoffs. The team's performance during this stretch proved challenging, securing only five map victories across tournaments tracked on HLTV.
In his departure message, GKaay expressed gratitude toward the organization for their backing during his tenure. He followed up by outlining his criteria for the next opportunity, highlighting his desire to work with a squad that prioritizes player development, emphasizes collaborative play and structured systems, and demonstrates commitment to improvement.
