The second North American Open Qualifier for PGL Masters Bucharest wrapped up with Villainous and antivalue earning the final two spots in the Closed Qualifier. The bracket saw several upsets, eliminating notable teams including KODEX, Zomblers, and Unreal Nightmare.
Villainous dominated their qualification match against Babag across two maps. On Dust2, they established complete control with an overwhelming 11-1 first half performance. After securing the second pistol round, they closed out the map 13-1. The action moved to Anubis where Villainous started slower at 1-3, but recovered to build a 7-5 halftime advantage. Their T-side execution proved decisive as they captured the map 13-7.
antivalue's path proved more challenging in their series against Celestial. The battle began on Anubis where Celestial surged to a 9-3 halftime lead despite losing the opening pistol. Though antivalue won the second pistol, Celestial extended their advantage to 11-4. antivalue mounted a six-round comeback attempt, but Celestial held on for a 13-10 victory.
Dust2 saw a complete reversal as antivalue delivered a devastating 12-0 first half shutout. Despite Celestial winning the second pistol round, antivalue quickly finished 13-3 to force a decider. On Inferno, antivalue built an 8-4 halftime lead and weathered Celestial's second-half comeback that pushed the match into overtime. antivalue proved clutch in extra rounds, closing out the map 16-13.
