Valve has rolled out a fresh Counter-Strike update introducing a redesigned series of IEM Cologne Major stickers. The new collection features a distinctive square-shaped format and showcases each team's final tournament placement.
Alongside the visual overhaul, the developers implemented significant price cuts. They openly admitted that the initial dynamic pricing mechanism "didn't produce reasonable prices" for the community.
The original pricing model had caused controversy when certain high-demand items reached astronomical values exceeding 150,000 tokens (approximately $1,500) in the in-game marketplace. The revamped system brings relief to buyers, with top-tier stickers now capped at 6,000 tokens (roughly $60) at publication time.
This adjustment comes after an HLTV investigation revealed that Cologne Major sticker revenues had experienced a catastrophic decline. Some organizations reported earnings plummeting to just 20% compared to previous tournaments like the StarLadder Budapest Major.
The newly launched sticker collection will remain available for purchase through September 29, giving fans ample opportunity to support their favorite teams at more accessible price points.
