Santino "try" Rigal, the AWPer for Legacy, is finally getting his opportunity to compete consistently at the highest level of Counter-Strike 2 after years of struggle and inconsistency.
The Argentinian player delivered an impressive 1.17 rating as Legacy advanced from the EWC group stage, securing victories against Ninjas in Pyjamas and MIBR while falling to FaZe. This French tournament represents try's first competition with Legacy after replacing Guilherme "saadzin" Pacheco on the AWP.
Reflecting on his career journey, try expressed his relief and determination. He acknowledged that recent years have been challenging, with only sporadic appearances at major tournaments rather than sustained tier-1 competition. Legacy now provides him with the platform he's been seeking to demonstrate his capabilities at the elite level.
The move to Legacy came after a disappointing stint with Passion UA earlier this year. That project collapsed within months, leaving try evaluating multiple offers from Brazilian squads and international rosters. His decision to join Legacy was straightforward, thanks to existing relationships with latto, dumau, and the coaching staff from their time together at 00NATION.
try particularly praised captain arT's leadership style and game sense, noting how well they've meshed despite being new teammates. He also expressed surprise at the skill level of his teammates.
Looking ahead, try is thrilled about the upcoming Major in Buenos Aires, Argentina's first-ever Major championship.
