Legacy's AWPer Santino "try" Rigal is embracing his opportunity to demonstrate his skills at the elite level following years of struggle and inconsistency.
The Argentinian sniper posted an impressive 1.17 rating as Legacy advanced from the EWC group stage, securing victories against Ninjas in Pyjamas and MIBR while falling to FaZe.
The French tournament represents try's first event with Legacy after replacing Guilherme "saadzin" Pacheco on the AWP. He's now gearing up for his first playoff run at a Big Event since ESL Pro League 20 with Imperial nearly two years ago.
"I'm very happy," he shared with HLTV following the MIBR match. "The past few years have been incredibly challenging. I'd compete at tier-1 events sporadically but never maintained consistency or played a full season.
"Legacy is my first opportunity to truly prove what I can do at tier-1. I'm thrilled to be back at this level."
He believes his performance continues to improve steadily, acknowledging he hasn't reached his full potential yet.
Earlier this year, try moved from Imperial to Passion UA seeking career progression, but the project collapsed within months. Despite having multiple offers from Brazilian squads and international organizations, his decision came quickly.
"I was already familiar with latto, dumau, and the coaching staff from 00NATION," he explained. "I hadn't worked with arT or n1ssim before, but their skill level has genuinely impressed me. arT is an outstanding captain with exceptional tactical intelligence."
try aims to help Legacy capture an international championship. The Brazilian squad successfully defended their CS Asia Championship title three months ago, defeating Falcons in the final.
With Argentina hosting its inaugural Major in Buenos Aires next year, try expressed gratitude to FiReSPORTS for making it happen and hopes Legacy reaches the playoffs.
