The second-to-last day of NSTLGA League Season 2 playoffs delivered intense action as teams battled for their share of the $10,000 prize pool. Only three squads remain standing after yesterday's matches.
In the upper bracket final, SportsBetExpert swept Without a Roof with a commanding 2-0 performance. The opening map, Dust2, saw both teams trade rounds throughout a competitive first half that ended tied 6-6. SportsBetExpert shifted gears in the second half, unleashing a five-round winning streak to close out the map 13-10.
Nuke proved even more dominant for SportsBetExpert. They stormed ahead with four consecutive rounds and maintained control throughout, finishing the first half 9-3. Kevin "consti" Yi turned in a monstrous CT-side performance with a 2.22 rating, powering his team to a 13-6 map victory and securing the series sweep.
The lower bracket semifinal between LAG and Iowa StormBoar delivered drama across all three maps. Iowa StormBoar looked strong on their Mirage pick, taking the map 13-7 after dominating the CT-side with twelve rounds in the second half.
Disaster struck Iowa StormBoar on Nuke when Nazar "H0NeST" Stefinko had to leave due to a personal emergency. Emergency substitute Noah "false" Richardson stepped in but couldn't prevent LAG from rolling to a 13-6 victory after building a 10-2 halftime lead.
The momentum carried into Anubis, where LAG completely dismantled Iowa StormBoar 13-2 to complete the comeback.
LAG will now face Without a Roof for the chance to challenge SportsBetExpert in the grand final.
