After suffering a surprising best-of-one defeat to JiJieHao on opening day, the Russian team regrouped and delivered a strong performance. They now advance to face either BIG or G2 in the Group A lower-bracket semi-final scheduled for Saturday.
The match began on Luminosity's map pick, Ancient, but Spirit dominated from start to finish. Danil "donk" Kryshkovets proved instrumental with multiple clutch plays as Luminosity struggled to find answers, managing only three attacking rounds. Spirit closed out the map quickly with four consecutive attacking rounds, with donk posting an impressive 2.08 rating and +15.07% round swing.
Dust2 told a completely different story. Luminosity opened strong, winning the CT pistol and building an early advantage. Spirit fought back to level the score four rounds in, and the teams remained tied heading into halftime.
The second half saw intense back-and-forth action. Spirit initially pulled ahead, but Luminosity refused to go down quietly. A critical moment came when Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov secured a triple kill with his AWP against Luminosity's pistol-heavy buy, keeping Spirit in front.
Luminosity pushed the match into overtime and even earned two map points to force a third map. However, Spirit weathered the storm, securing a second overtime period before closing out the series decisively.
