Day three of BLAST Bounty Season 2 delivered high drama as Team Spirit barely survived a massive scare from OG, needing double overtime to secure their progression in the tournament.
The match started with Spirit dominating Cache completely, but OG stormed back on Dust2. Taking advantage of Spirit's sluggish attacking rounds, OG built a 7-5 halftime advantage and eventually forced a deciding map.
Ancient looked like business as usual when Spirit jumped to a commanding 9-3 lead on their CT side. However, Adam "adamb" Ångström had other plans, delivering an exceptional second-half performance highlighted by a bold A-site push that dragged the game into overtime.
OG kept fighting through coordinated mid-round plays and crucial multi-kills from Casper "cadiaN" Møller and adamb. But Andrey "tN1R" Tatarinovich stepped up late for Spirit, and improved offensive execution finally allowed them to close out the upset bid.
Elsewhere, FOKUS shocked Aurora with a dominant performance, including a crushing 13-4 victory on Dust2 to eliminate the international roster. The revamped FOKUS lineup, featuring recent additions Paavo "podi" Heiskanen and Jacob "jocab" Nerheden, made a strong statement.
FUT's new signing Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç enjoyed a dream debut, posting a massive 2.24 rating on Ancient as his team defeated SINNERS 2-1. Coach András "coolio" Fercsák revealed post-match that the decision to replace Laurențiu "lauNX" Țârlea was mutual, explaining the team needed someone who could communicate more actively during rounds.
paiN Gaming rounded out the day's action by defeating Gentle Mates, who were playing with stand-in Joey "CRUC1AL" Steusel. Despite CRUC1AL's pistol ace and strong Inferno performance, Gentle Mates couldn't capitalize and fell on Nuke.
