Dmitry sh1ro Sokolov, Team Spirit's primary sniper in Counter-Strike 2, has opened up about the squad's campaign at IEM Cologne Major 2026. The Russian AWPer expressed his views in the organization's latest team vlog uploaded to their YouTube channel.
Team Spirit's journey at the major concluded with a third-fourth place finish. Their run ended in the semifinals when they fell to Team Falcons, missing out on a chance to compete in the grand final. The prestigious tournament took place from June 2nd through June 21st on German soil.
Over $1.25 million in prize money was distributed among participating teams throughout the competition. The major drew massive attention from the CS2 community as one of the year's most significant events.
While the result wasn't what Spirit had hoped for, sh1ro's comments suggest the team sees this performance as valuable experience heading into future competitions. The tournament provided important stage time for the roster as they continue developing their game in Counter-Strike 2.
