Ninjas in Pyjamas have been unsuccessful in their attempt to bring back former player Linus "LNZ" Holtäng from MIBR, according to sources cited by Dust2 Brasil in collaboration with HLTV.
The Brazilian organization turned down NIP's proposal to acquire the Swedish in-game leader. Interestingly, LNZ himself showed no interest in returning to his former team, despite having worn the NIP jersey from 2021 through 2023. Sources close to the situation confirmed that both MIBR management and the player preferred to maintain their current working relationship.
This attempted acquisition comes as NIP searches for a replacement for Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer, with both parties reportedly agreeing to part ways. Snappi's time with the Swedish organization lasted approximately eighteen months, during which the roster struggled to break through at top-tier competitions, though they showed occasional potential at regional tournaments.
Meanwhile, LNZ joined MIBR this past January as part of a major roster overhaul following disappointing results at the end of 2025. He arrived alongside Brazilian rifler Carlos "venomzera" Eduardo and Serbian coach Nestor "LETN1" Tanić. The revamped squad showed early promise with a top-four finish at the CS Asia Championship, though they faced an early elimination at the IEM Cologne Major. More recently, MIBR secured qualification for StarLadder StarSeries Fall but exited EWC 2026 during the group stage.
With LNZ remaining on the roster and rumors suggesting Tomas "tomaszin" Corna will join, MIBR appears poised to continue building around their Swedish leader.
