MIBR are working to finalize a permanent transfer for AWPer Lucas "nqz" Soares from paiN Gaming, as reported by Dust2 Brasil. The move comes as the organization looks to replace Klimentii "kl1m" Krivosheev, who has completed his loan period and is heading back to G2.
The 21-year-old sniper has been out of competitive action since April when he stepped away from paiN's active lineup citing personal matters. During his absence, MIBR's benched AWPer Rafael "saffee" Costa filled the role at several major events including IEM Atlanta, the CS Asia Championships, and the Cologne Major.
According to the report, MIBR had identified both nqz and Santino "try" Rigal as their primary targets to fill the AWP position. The signing reportedly has the backing of star rifler Felipe "insani" Yuji, who recently committed his future to MIBR by turning down a summer switch to Legacy. The organization has responded by offering insani a contract extension. He initially joined MIBR's academy system in 2021 before earning promotion to the main squad in 2023.
Kl1m posted impressive numbers during his time with the Brazilian squad, recording a 1.23 rating across his matches. His departure creates significant shoes to fill for the incoming nqz.
The revamped MIBR lineup is scheduled to debut at the XSE Pro League on July 1st, a prestigious $1 million tournament taking place in Guangzhou, China. Their opening match in the Swiss Stage format will pit them against B8. The final roster will feature brnz4n, insani, venomzera, LNZ, and nqz under the guidance of coach LETN1.
