Two of North America's top-ranked Counter-Strike 2 organizations, regain and NuTorious, have become among the first teams to register for the NSTLGA Texas CS2 Open. The competition is scheduled to run from October 30th through November 1st in San Antonio, marking one of the final North American LAN competitions anticipated for 2026.
Registration for the fifteen-thousand-dollar San Antonio event opened yesterday evening. Alongside regain and NuTorious, a third squad called COGNITIVE has also confirmed their participation in the VRS-enabled tournament, which kicks off on October 30th and continues through the Halloween weekend.
This marks NSTLGA's inaugural LAN tournament offering. However, it faces competition from FRAG's newly announced FRAG University event, which will take place earlier in Syracuse, New York, running from October 9th to 11th.
Although these two tournaments don't overlap in scheduling, participating teams may face tough financial decisions. Organizations will need to evaluate whether their budgets allow attendance at both events or if they should concentrate resources on a single competition as the winter player break approaches.
