Following their unexpected triumph against Falcons during BLAST Bounty Season 2, Håvard "rain" Nygaard opened up about his squad's fresh in-game leader Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen, who came aboard from Monte in early July.
When Alex "Mauisnake" Ellenberg posed a question about potential similarities between Gizmy and rain's previous teammate karrigan, the 31-year-old Norwegian veteran responded affirmatively. "In a way, they're very similar," rain noted. He highlighted that both leaders excel at "making adjustments in the round and figuring out what the next move is."
Interestingly, rain believes Gizmy might have a slight edge in one specific area. "I think Jack is even a little bit faster because his mother tongue is English, so it just flows really fast," he explained.
Much like karrigan before him, Gizmy's contributions aren't easily measured by traditional statistics. Through his opening three matches covering nine maps with 100 Thieves, the British caller has posted merely a 0.86 rating. While the squad dropped matches to NIP and Nuclear TigeRES alongside those underwhelming individual numbers, Gizmy appears to have strengthened the team's mental fortitude. Their remarkable comeback from a 3-9 deficit against the second-ranked Falcons serves as compelling evidence of this newfound resilience under his leadership.
