Counter-Strike 2's Premier Season Four has officially come to a close, and the competitive community is now eagerly waiting for Season Five to kick off.
While Valve has remained tight-lipped about most details, one confirmed change is coming: Cache will be replacing Overpass in the Active Duty map pool. Beyond this map rotation, information about the new season remains scarce.
Players across the community are anticipating that Season Five could launch as soon as today. Many are hoping the update will bring significant improvements to the game's anti-cheat system, a persistent concern among competitive players. The official CS2 social media account has only posted a mysterious announcement, leaving matchmaking enthusiasts guessing about the exact launch time and what additional features or changes might be included.
Looking back, Season Four kicked off in January and brought several additions to the game, including new community-created maps and weapon skins. That season also featured a major map pool shake-up when Train was swapped out for Anubis.
As the community waits with bated breath, all eyes are on Valve for an official announcement that will bring Premier matchmaking back online with fresh content and hopefully enhanced security measures.
