Perfect World has officially confirmed Shanghai as the venue for the second Major tournament of 2027, validating earlier reports from industry sources.
This marks the organization's return to hosting Major championships following their successful Shanghai 2024 event, where Spirit claimed their inaugural Major title by defeating FaZe in the championship match.
The 2027 competitive calendar will kick off with FiReSPORTS hosting the opening Major in Buenos Aires, Argentina, before Perfect World takes over for the year's concluding tournament. Looking ahead, BLAST and ESL have secured the rights to organize the 2028 Major events.
The Shanghai Major is scheduled to span from November 22 through December 12, featuring four competitive stages assuming the current Major structure remains unchanged. Tournament organizers expect to offer a prize pool totaling $1.25 million, consistent with recent Major championships.
