NuTorious have been crowned champions of SOFLO Slam 2 following an electrifying three-map battle against F5 in the grand final. The tournament also saw streamer Jaryd "summit1g" Lazar's squad D1NK eliminated by House Platypus ESC earlier in the competition.
The championship series opened on Ancient, where NuTorious secured a 7-5 lead at halftime. F5's Colin "colinzao" Chan endured a difficult performance on this map, finishing with just 3 kills against 17 deaths. With NuTorious ahead 12-8, Gavin "Fruitcupx" Norman clutched a crucial 1v1 against Shuqi "Michael Weki" Dai to secure the opening map victory.
F5 fought back on Mirage after both teams split the first half 6-6. The contest remained tight throughout, but F5 managed to level the series at 1-1 with a 13-10 win, sending the match to Anubis for the decider.
The final map began with another 6-6 deadlock at the break, setting the stage for a dramatic conclusion. F5 built a four-round advantage, but NuTorious responded with six consecutive rounds to reach match point. Matthew "br7ght" Ulatowski's clutch in round 23 and smart time management in round 24 kept F5's hopes alive. The teams battled into double overtime, and at 18-16, Andrew "Kermi" Cretella sealed the championship with a quick double kill. Although Michael Weki topped the server with 73 eliminations, his efforts fell just short of securing the trophy.
