NSTLGA League Season 2: How VRS Rankings Changed After the Tournament

September 14, 20262 min read

The recently concluded NSTLGA League Season 2 has made waves in the competitive scene, bringing substantial changes to team rankings through VRS point distribution. The tournament received comprehensive HLTV coverage during Stages 2 and 3, resulting in major ranking movements and altered predictions for PGL Major Singapore invitations.

Tournament champions SportsBetExpert claimed 67 VRS points for their victory, propelling them closer to breaking into the Top 50 globally. This achievement also secured their spot in HLTV's forecast for Stage 1 Major invites from the Americas region. Meanwhile, runners-up Without a Roof emerged as the biggest winners, accumulating an impressive 92 points that elevated the experienced North American roster to the 110th position worldwide.

The third-place finishers LAG added nine points to their tally, though they sacrificed 20 points in their defeats against Without a Roof. Iowa Stormboar's Top 4 finish proved highly rewarding, netting them 84 points and launching them nearly 50 positions higher in the VRS standings.

Not all teams fared well in the rankings shuffle. Chicken Coop, Wanted Goons, and NuTorious experienced significant point losses following their underwhelming group stage eliminations. Wanted Goons now face a precarious situation at rank 296, where another weak performance could see them drop below the Top 300 threshold.

The tournament also welcomed new entrants to the VRS rankings. FarmVille, Beyond Limits, and Axial each completed the minimum five matches required for ranking eligibility, making their debuts at positions 241, 332, and 335 respectively.
