The NSTLGA Emerald Cup has completed its opening playoff round, reducing the field from 16 competitors down to the final eight squads as the tournament heads into its decisive stage.
A surprising early exit came from Overtake Sector, who claimed victory at ESL Challenger League Season 52 NA Cup 3 but couldn't advance past Master One in the single-elimination format. Meanwhile, squads like LAG, Iowa Stomboar, and regain successfully pushed through to keep their championship aspirations alive, with $1,250 on the line for the eventual winner.
The group stage had already produced some unexpected results, with Marsborne—ranked 23rd in the Americas region—withdrawing from competition after forfeiting both matches in Group B. Group H participant Olympus similarly dropped out of contention.
The quarterfinal stage will feature these matchups: LAG takes on regain in what promises to be a competitive clash, while DETONATE faces FarmVille. Master One, fresh off their upset of Overtake Sector, will square off against KODEX. The final quarterfinal pits Empire against Iowa Stormboar in a battle for a semifinal berth.
With the bracket now finalized, these eight remaining teams are just three victories away from claiming the tournament title and the accompanying prize money.
