The team's path to victory included playoff victories against Eh and NuTorious, with coach Damian "daps" Steele stepping in as a stand-in and posting impressive 1.06 and 1.17 ratings while regular AWPer Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli was absent.
The championship match began with a nail-biter on Dust2, where NRG barely scraped through in overtime. SportsBetExpert struck back by stealing NRG's Mirage pick with a 13-9 scoreline. However, NRG responded decisively with a devastating 13-2 demolition on Inferno. Leading 2-1, they sealed the series with a comfortable 13-6 win on Cache, the recently reinstated map.
Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek was the star performer, dropping 89 kills and achieving a stellar 1.64 rating throughout the finals. Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott, competing in his first grand final since rejoining NRG, finished with a 47-51 K/D and a solid 1.02 rating. Sonic and Michael "Grim" Wince formed a lethal rifling partnership, leading the entire tournament with 1.64 and 1.32 ratings respectively across eight maps.
This LAN success earned the squad 121 ranking points, propelling them to position 46 in the VRS standings. While they haven't yet surpassed Liquid, NRG are showing strong momentum following Cologne. The team expects to grow even stronger once hallzerk officially joins the active roster.
