Ninjas in Pyjamas are actively hunting for a new in-game leader to take over from Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer, according to information obtained by HLTV and Dust2 Brasil. The decision marks another roster shake-up for the Swedish organization after a series of underwhelming results.
The leadership change appears to be a mutual decision between both parties. Snappi had previously indicated his willingness to step aside if the organization wanted to pursue a different strategic direction. The 36-year-old veteran is reportedly considering a transition into a different role within the competitive scene.
MIBR recently rejected an approach from NIP for Linus "LNZ" Holtäng, who joined the Brazilian squad in January. The Swedish organization is also evaluating long-term solutions for the spot left vacant when Artem "cairne" Mushynskyi was benched in June. Academy talent Roman "n0te" Hamze has been filling in temporarily since that time.
Currently sitting at 20th in the Europe VRS rankings, Ninjas in Pyjamas face a challenging path forward with no invitations to top-tier tournaments in sight. Their recent performance at the Esports World Cup saw them exit in 17th-24th place after defeats against Legacy and Astralis, though they managed a victory over BetBoom.
Snappi joined the organization in January 2025 when the roster was rebuilt around Artem "r1nkle" Moroz, who has since moved to G2. Under his leadership, the team reached the StarSeries Fall 2025 grand final, competed in Stage 2 of the Budapest Major, and finished top-12 at IEM Cologne 2025.
The squad will next compete at Logitech G Play Connect, a $100,000 tournament in Warsaw running from September 17-23, followed by ROG Journey Autumn in early October. NIP declined to provide comment when approached.
