MOUZ have advanced to the semi-finals of BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals following a hard-fought victory over 3DMAX. The series saw MOUZ lose Dust2 10-13, before rallying to win Nuke 22-18 in triple overtime and dominating Inferno 13-3.
In a post-match broadcast interview, Dorian "xertioN" Berman acknowledged his squad faced serious mental challenges during the series. He admitted they failed to perform at their usual standard across the opening two maps, with numerous tactical errors and lost advantages nearly costing them the match. Squandered rounds against eco buys led to their Dust2 defeat and almost resulted in a Nuke loss, saved only by an outstanding performance from Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás.
On Dust2, 3DMAX implemented a clear strategy targeting MOUZ newcomer Oldřich "PR" Nový on the B site. The French squad capitalized early, winning the pistol round to build a 4-0 lead. Despite torzsi and xertioN securing multiple frags to level the scoreline, 3DMAX maintained pressure with relentless B executes, holding PR to a poor 2-8 kill-death ratio by halftime. After extending their advantage to 9-5 following the second pistol, 3DMAX faced a MOUZ comeback targeting Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier's B defense. However, a crucial eco round victory by Jeremy "Kursy" Gast, featuring a quad kill and clutch 1v2 with saved weapons, sealed the map 13-10 for 3DMAX.
Nuke proved chaotic from the start, with Bryan "Maka" Canda's four kills with Dualies wasted after 3DMAX won the following round with Glocks. MOUZ struggled with consistency, dropping multiple anti-eco rounds and losing crucial clutches to Lucas "Lucky" Chastang. Adrian "xelex" Vincze's 1v2 saved their pistol round despite xertioN's unfortunate fall from Heaven. The teams traded rounds until 9-9, but MOUZ's continued mistakes, including a missed molotov from torzsi during an Upper site execute, allowed 3DMAX to reach match point. MOUZ forced overtime where torzsi's incredible triple kill recovered a 2v4 situation. The map extended to triple overtime before xelex delivered back-to-back clutch rounds, including a quad kill and 1v3, securing the 22-18 victory.
Inferno told a completely different story. The mistakes plaguing MOUZ vanished as xertioN's strategic calling combined with exceptional fragging from Lotan "Spinx" Giladi and PR resulted in total control. MOUZ cruised to a dominant 13-3 finish, booking their semi-final berth.
