The first premier Counter-Strike 2 tournament following the IEM Cologne Major 2026 has concluded with MOUZ emerging victorious. The German organization overcame Team Spirit in a decisive 3-1 series to secure the BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 title.
The grand final began on Dust2, Spirit's map selection. Despite opening on their own pick, Spirit couldn't establish control. MOUZ built a 7-5 advantage on their CT side before halftime, then Spinx delivered an exceptional individual performance to close out the map 13-8, giving MOUZ the initial lead.
Mirage proved even more one-sided. MOUZ dominated their map pick with a crushing T-side attack, restricting Spirit to merely 4 rounds in the opening half. Spirit's star player donk struggled to find his usual form, remaining unusually quiet throughout. MOUZ finished the map 13-4, establishing a commanding 2-0 series advantage.
Spirit finally showed life on Ancient, their second pick. The map remained competitive at 6-6 by halftime, and donk finally awakened to lead a strong CT-side push. Spirit claimed Ancient 13-9, cutting the deficit to 2-1 and keeping their championship hopes alive.
However, Nuke extinguished any comeback aspirations. MOUZ once again secured a 7-5 first-half lead, and despite some momentary struggles, they regained composure to finish 13-10. The 3-1 series victory sealed the championship.
This triumph follows disappointing results at the IEM Cologne Major 2026, but MOUZ had already begun implementing changes. The decision to appoint xertioN as in-game leader appears justified. New addition Oldřich "PR" Nový impressed in his debut major appearance, registering 57 eliminations across the series—just one behind donk—while playing a solid supporting role.
With Team Vitality's early-year dominance showing cracks, MOUZ have firmly established themselves among the game's elite contenders heading into the season's final stretch.
