MIBR have kicked off their FISSURE Playground 3 campaign with a hard-fought victory against The MongolZ in their Group B opener, claiming a 2-1 series win across three maps (5-13 Ancient, 13-10 Mirage, 13-10 Inferno). The match marked the LAN debut for MIBR's latest addition, Argentinian rifler Tomas "tomaszin" Corna.
The new recruit struggled to find his footing in the opening map on Ancient, posting a disappointing 0.55 map rating. However, tomaszin showed resilience by bouncing back strongly on Mirage with a 1.30 rating, followed by a solid 1.06 performance on Inferno, contributing significantly to his team's comeback.
The decisive map on Inferno went down to overtime, where The MongolZ's series of errors proved costly. A critical 1vs3 clutch from Lucas "nqz" Soares swung momentum decisively toward the South American roster, sealing their opening victory.
MIBR will now prepare to battle 9z for a coveted playoff berth, while The MongolZ face a must-win situation against their compatriots 5star.
In other Group B action earlier today, 9z dominated 5star in their opening fixture, while Legacy managed to squeeze past magic in a competitive three-map series.
