MIBR have secured their place in the FISSURE Playground 3 semi-finals following a commanding 2-0 victory over Alliance at the SND Cultural & Sports Centre. The Brazilian core players all posted exceptional ratings above 1.40 throughout the series.
The opening map on Alliance's Inferno pick saw the Swedes grab an early advantage despite dropping the pistol round, leading 4-3. However, MIBR shifted momentum dramatically with five consecutive defensive rounds to establish an 8-4 halftime lead. The Brazilian trio absolutely dominated, with Lucas "nqz" Soares delivering an outstanding 1.90 rating, Felipe "insani" Yuji contributing 1.74, and Carlos "venomzera" Eduardo adding 1.52. They extended their five-round streak into the second half with another five unanswered rounds to close out Inferno 13-4.
Cache started promisingly for Alliance with four straight rounds, but insani's triple kill sparked a seven-round run that flipped the script to 5-4 in MIBR's favor. The South American squad held a 7-5 halftime edge and pushed further ahead after winning the second pistol. A clutch 1v1 from nqz brought MIBR to double digits, followed by insani's impressive quad kill in a 3v5 disadvantage.
With MIBR on map point at 12-5, Alliance mounted a brief comeback attempt with four consecutive attacking rounds. However, Tomas "tomaszin" Corna shut the door with a crucial double kill in round 22, sealing the 13-9 victory.
MIBR will now face Legacy in the semi-finals, who advanced directly from Group B as the top seed.
