MIBR's chief executive Alexandre Peres, known as Kakavel, has publicly stated the organization's intention to remain active in women's Counter-Strike during a recent appearance on Dust2 Brasil's Radar podcast recorded in Paris.
The statement comes as MIBR fe earned recognition as a nominee for Women's Team of the Year by HLTV in 2025. Their achievements include winning the FERJEE Rainhas do Clutch tournament in June and securing second place in ESL Impact League Season 8 before the competition's suspension.
Kakavel expressed satisfaction with his team's performance while emphasizing MIBR's role in preventing the scene's collapse. The organization views itself as a supporter of the ecosystem during a particularly difficult period.
The women's Counter-Strike landscape has faced significant setbacks recently. Within just the last month, the scene lost Mayline-Joy Champliaud, ranked as the number one player, and saw FURIA fe, another Team of the Year nominee, exit the space.
Despite these departures and the cancellation of multiple tournaments, Kakavel remains resolute. He acknowledged that numerous teams have withdrawn and several championships have ceased operations, but stressed MIBR's determination to continue fielding their women's team while seeking viable paths forward for both their roster and the broader competitive scene.
