Max "Maxuel" Barutt has made a swift move in the competitive Counter-Strike scene, joining DETONATE merely two hours after confirming his exit from Festina Lente. The transition happened rapidly as multiple roster changes hit the team simultaneously.
According to Barutt's statement to Dust2.us, the Festina Lente roster is dissolving as players received competing offers from various organizations. With insufficient members remaining to maintain the VRS core, the team appears to be going their separate ways.
The timing proves crucial as Maxuel joins DETONATE right before ESEA Advanced Season 58 kicks off. He steps in for Aidan "Feral" Wood, the New Zealand player who is transitioning to an inactive role. Wood's move to the bench stems from real-life work commitments, though he remains listed as a substitute on the FACEIT roster.
DETONATE enters Advanced following an impressive Main season performance. The squad posted an 11-3 record and delivered strong playoff results that secured their spot at the ESEA NA Finals. Their Finals run saw them split matches with one victory and one defeat, landing them a 5th-8th place finish and earning promotion to Advanced for Season 58.
The refreshed DETONATE lineup features Austin "chante" Ganster, Matthew "tatm" Munro, Timothy "carN" Adams, Arush "arush" Kumra, and Maxuel, with Leroy "OrangeZ" Burns coaching the squad.
