Ninjas in Pyjamas has confirmed that Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer will no longer be part of their active Counter-Strike 2 roster. The Danish veteran, who served as the team's in-game leader for more than a year and a half, is stepping back following a mutual decision between both parties.
The Swedish esports organization revealed the change comes as they search for a new tactical leader and explore permanent options to replace their current stand-in player. The 36-year-old Pfeiffer took over the leadership position at the start of 2025, replacing the previous captain and guiding the squad through numerous tournaments.
During his time with NIP, the team's most notable achievement came with a quarter-final appearance at a major event in Astana. They also secured victories at several smaller competitions, including tournaments in Las Vegas and other regional events. However, consistency at the highest level remained elusive, with the roster spending most of this period outside the global top 20 rankings.
Pfeiffer, who built a reputation throughout his nearly two-decade career as a fragging in-game leader, faced challenges maintaining his individual performance. His statistics against elite opposition reflected these struggles, posting below-average numbers during his tenure.
The current NIP roster now features Rasmus Beck, Kacper Gabara, and Martin Lund as the core players, with a temporary fifth member and Richard Landström continuing as head coach. The organization has not yet announced who will assume the in-game leadership responsibilities or what Pfeiffer's next steps will be.
