The Esports World Cup finalists FUT have been forced to withdraw from FISSURE Playground 3 following visa complications that prevented the Turkish organization from attending the event in China.
Stepping into their spot will be magic, who currently sit at 19th in the HLTV world rankings. Tournament organizers FISSURE confirmed the roster change will necessitate adjustments to the match schedule, though the updated groups and opening fixtures have not yet been revealed.
The timing is particularly unfortunate for FUT, coming just seven days after their impressive runner-up finish at the Esports World Cup. Their journey at that tournament concluded with a grand final defeat against Spirit.
For magic, this marks their third LAN tournament appearance in 2024. The European squad has shown solid form this year, securing fourth place at PGL Astana and advancing to the round of 16 at the Esports World Cup, where they notched wins against 3DMAX and 9z.
FISSURE Playground 3 is scheduled to run from September 8-13 in Suzhou, China, bringing together 16 teams to battle for a share of the $1 million prize pool.
