GamerLegion has announced a roster change for the upcoming IEM Beijing closed qualifier, bringing in Pavle "Maden" Bošković as a stand-in replacement. The team will compete without their regular player Sebastian "Tauson" Tauson Lindelof, who cannot participate due to health reasons according to the organization's statement.
The online qualifier runs from September 2-4 and offers two coveted spots for IEM Beijing scheduled for November. Sixteen teams will battle through a double-elimination bracket format, with GamerLegion drawing Nuclear TigeRES as their first opponent.
Entering the qualifier as the second-highest ranked squad according to HLTV rankings, GamerLegion had strong expectations of securing one of the two available spots. However, this unexpected last-minute roster adjustment significantly impacts their prospects in the competition.
The timing proves particularly critical for GamerLegion's season outlook. With their competitive calendar notably sparse for the remainder of the year, the stakes are exceptionally high. Following this qualifier, their only other major commitment is FISSURE Playground 3, which begins next week. This makes qualifying for IEM Beijing even more important for maintaining competitive momentum through the end of the season.
