M80 have booked their place in the upper bracket final of Roman Imperium Cup VIII following a dominant 2-0 series victory against Iberian Soul. The North American squad showcased impressive form, with Josh 'JBa' Barutt continuing his hot streak from the previous matchup against 6666.
The opening map took place on Ancient, M80's map selection. Both teams traded rounds evenly throughout regulation, with each half concluding at 6-6. The match extended into overtime, where neither side could establish control until the third overtime period. M80 finally secured the map 22-19, powered by explosive performances from Mason 'Lake' Sanderson and Elias 's1n' Stein, who each recorded over 30 eliminations.
Cache proved far less challenging for the Americans. Playing on Iberian Soul's map choice, M80 dominated from the start. JBa spearheaded the terrorist side with eleven frags, helping M80 establish an 8-4 advantage by halftime. The momentum continued in the second half, with JBa adding seven more kills to finish with a match-leading 18 eliminations on Cache. M80 closed out the map 13-5 to complete the sweep.
M80 will now prepare for their upper bracket final showdown against Luminosity, scheduled for tomorrow at 06:00 AM.
