According to the official DraculaN website, M80 have officially pulled out from the upcoming Season 7 event in Romania. The team won't be defending their championship after claiming victory in Season 6. M80 were among the earliest teams to register for this $35,000 tournament, joining during the first wave of sign-ups for what's set to be DraculaN's biggest event yet.
The exact reasons behind M80's withdrawal remain unclear, as the organization didn't respond to requests for comment. However, the decision appears linked to Major qualification strategy. Based on recent projections from Finn "Mischief" Farrer published on October 4th, M80 hold an impressive 99.68% probability of securing their spot at the PGL Singapore Major. With qualification virtually guaranteed unless something catastrophic happens, the team seemingly concluded that competing in DraculaN Season 7 offered minimal upside while potentially risking their VRS points.
This strategic withdrawal makes sense considering the competition level at DraculaN Season 7. The tournament features an exceptionally strong lineup including FaZe, ENVY, HEROIC, and Luminosity, alongside 20 other teams such as Eternal Fire, SAW, SINNERS, and MOUZ NXT.
The seventh season of DraculaN is scheduled to kick off on October 19th, where 24 teams will battle for the $35,000 prize pool without the defending champions in the mix.
