Luminosity has officially brought Simon "yxngstxr" Boije on board from HEROIC, filling the vacancy left by Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras, who was benched on Monday.
The Swedish player endured an uncertain first half of 2026, initially sidelined by HEROIC before being recalled to fill the AWP position while the organization sorted out Alimzhan "Alkaren" Bitimbay's visa complications. During his temporary sniper stint, yxngstxr maintained a solid 1.00 rating and contributed to HEROIC's qualification for the IEM Cologne Major Stage 1. He also helped secure championships at DraculaN Season 5 and Stake Ranked Episode 3.
Expressing his excitement on social media, yxngstxr wrote: "After 2 rough seasons, it's finally time to go and start the real rifle grind." The move represents a return to his preferred rifle role.
Bymas was benched following disappointing results with the former Monte core lineup under Lucas "lux" Meneghini, which recorded back-to-back last-place finishes at XSE Pro League Guangzhou and Esports World Cup.
yxngstxr will make his first appearance for Luminosity at Roman Imperium Cup VIII, taking place September 10-13. The roster now features Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov, Aurélien "afro" Drapier, lux, Oscar "AZUWU" Bell, and yxngstxr, coached by Alexander "kakafu" Szymanczyk.
