Luminosity have secured their place in the playoff bracket at Logitech G Play Connect following a 3-2 performance during the best-of-one stage at the Polish LAN tournament. This result marks a continuation of improved performances from the squad after a difficult beginning to their Counter-Strike 2 journey, building on their runner-up finish at Roman Imperium Cup VIII.
The day began poorly with a 7-13 defeat against GamerLegion on Nuke, but Luminosity quickly recovered with a 9-13 victory over Metizport on Mirage. They then fell in a tight contest to Group A leaders B8, losing 11-13 on Dust2. However, the team finished strong with an impressive 13-4 demolition of M80 on Ancient, followed by a narrow 13-11 triumph against NIP, also on Ancient.
The crucial victory over NIP proved decisive in securing their playoff qualification. Without that win, a three-way tiebreaker scenario involving Luminosity, NIP, and GamerLegion would have resulted in NIP advancing instead.
Former Liquid player Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov delivered an exceptional individual performance, achieving a 1.22 rating across all five maps. Aurélien "afro" Drapier was equally impressive, posting a 1.19 rating throughout the day.
Luminosity will return to competition when playoffs begin on September 19th.
