Luminosity officially bring in kakafu as head coach

August 25, 20261 min read1 views

Luminosity have made official the appointment of Alexander "kakafu" Szymanczyk to the position of head coach.

The Austrian strategist had already been working with the roster during their appearances at XSE Pro League Guangzhou and the Esports World Cup. Now, the organization has formally confirmed him as part of the team.

Prior to joining Luminosity, kakafu was involved with Monte's lineup that competed at the IEM Cologne Major. He made the move to Luminosity alongside several former Monte players, though without IGL Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen. This appointment marks an official reunion with his previous teammates.

The announcement follows closely on the heels of Luminosity's decision to bench Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras, a move that came less than two months after the organization signed the former Monte core.

The current Luminosity lineup features Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov, Aurélien "afro" Drapier, Lucas "lux" Meneghini, and Oscar "AZUWU" Bell, with kakafu now steering the team from the coaching position.
