Luminosity secured their place in the semifinals of Logitech G Play Connect after defeating BBL 2-0 in the quarterfinal matchup. The North American squad entered the playoffs after narrowly beating NIP 13-11 to finish the group stage with a 3-2 record.
The series showcased exceptional performance from French AWPer Aurélien "afro" Drapier, who dominated with 25 AWP eliminations, 96.4 average damage per round, and an impressive 1.73 rating throughout the match.
The opening map, Nuke, was BBL's selection and started favorably for the Danish side as they claimed the pistol round and subsequent conversions. The teams exchanged rounds back and forth until Luminosity strung together three consecutive victories to level the score at 6-6 heading into halftime. Luminosity captured the second pistol and extended their advantage to 10-6. BBL attempted a comeback, narrowing the deficit, but Luminosity maintained composure and closed out the map 13-9, despite winning only eight opening engagements.
Mirage proved to be less competitive as Luminosity took control early. They opened with six straight rounds before BBL managed to respond with four of their own. Luminosity added two more before the half concluded, establishing an 8-4 cushion. Although they dropped the second-half pistol, Luminosity swiftly finished their map pick 13-5 to secure the series sweep.
Luminosity now awaits their semifinal clash against B8, scheduled for September 22nd at 09:00 AM.
