Marcelo "coldzera" David has definitively closed the chapter on his competitive Counter-Strike 2 career. The 31-year-old Brazilian legend opened up during a recent Twitch broadcast about his feelings toward professional play, revealing he has no desire to return to the scene.
Contrary to his own expectations, coldzera discovered he doesn't yearn for the competitive grind after stepping away. He admitted he initially thought retirement would leave a void, but reality proved quite different. The former star emphasized how demanding the professional lifestyle truly is, explaining that competing at the highest level strips players of their personal lives and creates unbearable pressure.
The Brazilian rifler's career peaked during 2016-2017 when he dominated the scene as HLTV's number one player for two consecutive years. His crowning achievements came in 2016 when he captured Major championships at MLG Columbus with Luminosity and ESL One Cologne with SK Gaming, earning MVP recognition at both tournaments.
Following those glory days, coldzera's career trajectory shifted downward. He cycled through multiple organizations including MIBR, FaZe, 00NATION, Legacy, and ODDIK, but never recaptured his former dominance. His later years saw him competing in lower-tier events without challenging for premier international championships.
After departing ODDIK in November 2025, coldzera remained teamless while participating in various tournaments with Fake do Biru, including the BetBoom RUSH B! Summit and BetBoom Circuit X Pantanal Cuiabá 2026. His final competitive appearance occurred on March 28 at FERJEE In House 2026 with MAGNA, where his squad fell 2-0 to ShindeN. He hasn't competed officially since that loss.
