The opening playoff round of NSTLGA League Season 2 concluded yesterday with three decisive matches determining the upper-bracket semifinalists.
In the biggest surprise of the day, Without a Roof dominated Marsborne with a commanding 2-0 victory, earning their place among the final four in the upper bracket.
Iowa Stormboar had already qualified two days prior, defeating Overtake Sector 2-1. Yesterday saw LAG and SportsBetExpert both cruise to 2-0 wins against regain and FarmVille respectively.
LAG faced regain on Inferno first, where regain built a 7-5 lead on their T-side. However, LAG flipped the script in the second half, with Jonathan "djay" Dallal and Brendan "Bwills" Williams powering their team to a 13-8 comeback win. The momentum carried into Dust2, where djay continued his stellar performance, helping LAG close out the map 13-3.
SportsBetExpert took on FarmVille starting with Dust2. After falling behind 3-1 early, SBE recovered to lead 7-5 at halftime and finished strong at 13-6. On Inferno, SportsBetExpert jumped ahead 9-3 before halftime. Though FarmVille mounted a second-half push, it fell short as SBE sealed the map 13-8. Shane "shane" Dressler dominated with 42 kills, eight more than any other player.
Tonight's upper bracket features Iowa Stormboar versus SportsBetExpert and Without a Roof against LAG. In the lower bracket, Overtake Sector meets FarmVille, while regain have forfeited their match, giving Marsborne a walkover to face the loser of Iowa Stormboar and SportsBetExpert.
