KODEX officially sign celery following successful trial period

September 8, 20261 min read

KODEX have officially welcomed Andrew "celery" Pylko to their roster, making permanent what began as an emergency substitution at FRAG Midwest: St. Louis. The move comes after circumstances forced the team to find a last-minute replacement.

The signing follows a dramatic turn of events when teammate Raymon "duhpe" Carrillo was involved in an accident with a drunk driver just two days before the LAN event. KODEX needed an immediate solution, bringing celery in to fill the gap.

Following the tournament, duhpe returned to help the squad through ESEA Advanced Season 58 playoffs. However, he subsequently decided to step away from active competition to prioritize his physical recovery. He also mentioned differing team philosophies as another reason behind his departure.

Pylko brings experience from his time with several organizations including ASPYRE, MERC, and Vireo.pro. His move to KODEX appears to have come from ASPYRE, who failed to advance to ESEA Advanced Season 58 playoffs after finishing with a 6-8 record.

The current KODEX lineup features Dalton "dopplahs" Hanley, John "Toasty" Hill, Nick "kenny" Gomulka, and Joe "JSP" Chmielewski alongside the newly signed celery. The team will look to build chemistry with their finalized five-man roster moving forward.
