Georgi "Jorko" Mitev is thrilled with Team Liquid's opening performances despite their recent defeat to Spirit. The Bulgarian AWPer gave his debut a perfect score, even after falling short against the formidable opponents on LAN.
Liquid's revamped roster started strong in BLAST Bounty's online stage, securing impressive victories over both Vitality and G2. However, Spirit ultimately proved too challenging when teams met in person.
Reflecting on the Spirit match, Jorko acknowledged the competitive nature of the games. He noted that rounds were tight and came down to individual decision-making. The AWPer admitted to overextending in certain situations and playing too aggressively at times, though he felt the team generally maintained good coordination.
When asked to evaluate his first three matches wearing the Liquid jersey, Jorko didn't hesitate: a flawless ten out of ten. Despite posting strong numbers, particularly on Dust 2, he remains self-critical about specific macro-level mistakes he wants to address moving forward.
The young player believes improvement will come through repetition and discipline, especially regarding patience. He confessed to constantly wanting to make plays, something he's working to balance better.
Beyond his in-game contributions, Jorko has become known for bringing positive energy to the experienced roster. He's been spotted with party poppers and other props designed to keep spirits high. For him, it's simply about being authentic and preventing negative emotions from affecting his teammates' focus during competition.
Looking ahead to their Stockholm campaign at the Stake event, Jorko maintains a grounded perspective. Despite facing lower-ranked opponents, he refuses to underestimate anyone, emphasizing the importance of staying careful and executing their game plan.
