Aurora have secured their spot in the StarSeries Fall grand final after defeating tournament favorites Vitality in the upper bracket final. The Finnish squad's victory means they'll skip the consolidation final and head straight to Championship Sunday's decisive match.
Jimpphat delivered an outstanding performance with a series-high 1.36 rating, continuing Aurora's impressive run that included earlier victories over Natus Vincere and NRG. Speaking after the match, the Finnish player expressed how significant this victory feels for his team.
"We've played excellent Counter-Strike in practice, but tournaments have been different," Jimpphat explained. "We're still a new roster, so beating top teams consistently takes time. This tournament meant everything—the VRS points, Major invites, Hong Kong qualification. We prepared extremely well, and it showed."
The young star credited his aggressive lurking style and fearless mentality for his success against Vitality. Coach ash praised his active positioning, particularly his ability to convert situations when Aurora found themselves down players.
"I've been playing with insane confidence lately," Jimpphat said. "Against a team like Vitality, you can't second-guess yourself. You can't think they're individually superior or you've already lost. You take every aim duel fearlessly and execute."
The team underwent significant changes after their BLAST Porto showing against G2. Following that loss, Aurora held extensive team discussions about eliminating costly mistakes that prevented them from competing with elite squads.
"We know this lineup's potential," Jimpphat stated. "We had a serious conversation about improving because we understood what we're capable of achieving."
Behind the scenes, Jimpphat has been collaborating closely with coach ash on mental preparation and strategic positioning, particularly for high-pressure situations. He acknowledged that maintaining peak performance isn't always possible, but wants to capitalize on his current momentum.
Regarding Sunday's format featuring both consolidation and grand finals, Jimpphat highlighted the advantage of avoiding the double-header: "Playing best-of-three into best-of-five is mentally exhausting. Having extra energy and preparation time gives us the upper hand."
Should Vitality emerge from the lower bracket, Jimpphat views a rematch as the true test: "That would be the game showing who's genuinely better. But today's win proves we can defeat elite teams, which boosts our confidence tremendously."
