FaZe Clan advanced to the semifinals of BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 after defeating The MongolZ in a thrilling quarterfinal clash. The European squad's newest addition, AWPer Jason "JBOEN" Boe Nielsen, showcased impressive form in what marked his first appearance at a premier LAN tournament.
The opening map, Nuke, belonged to FaZe by selection but The MongolZ dominated early proceedings. The Mongolian roster stormed to a 10-2 halftime advantage on their CT side, extending it to 12-3 after switching. However, FaZe staged a remarkable resurgence, stringing together nine consecutive rounds to push the match into overtime. They sealed the comeback with a flawless 4-0 overtime performance, claiming the map 16-12.
Mirage, chosen by The MongolZ, saw the Asian squad return to form with a 9-3 first-half lead. This time, FaZe couldn't replicate their previous heroics. The MongolZ maintained composure and closed out the map 13-7, setting up a decisive third encounter.
On Ancient, the decider, FaZe finally found their rhythm from the opening pistol. JBOEN topped the server with eleven kills during the first half, helping his team establish a 9-3 cushion. The MongolZ mounted a response after the break, but the deficit proved insurmountable as FaZe secured the map 13-8 and the series 2-1.
JBOEN finished with an outstanding 56 eliminations across the series. Only The MongolZ AWPer Usukhbayar "910" Banzragch managed to surpass 50 kills in the match.
FaZe will compete in the semifinal round tomorrow.
